Colorado’s online Marketplace, where lawfully present Coloradans can shop for and compare private health insurance plans.

 

It’s the only place where you can apply for financial assistance to save money on monthly premiums, copays and deductibles for those who qualify.

 

Monthly premiums vary by plan and by eligibility for financial assistance. Plans must be purchased during the open enrollment period from Nov. 1st – Jan 15th or can be purchased anytime if you have a qualifying life change event.

Public health insurance for Coloradans who meet the income guidelines for Medicaid/ Health First Colorado but do not meet the lawful presence requirements. This program only covers life or limb threatening emergencies, medically necessary dialysis for those with kidney disease, reproductive health care services such as birth control and the delivery of baby for pregnant women. 

IMPORTANT: If you or your family members are enrolled in Medicaid or CHP+, please visit CO.gov/PEAK to check your Medicaid renewal date and to make sure your mailing address is correct. ​It is important to review any mail you get from Medicaid and respond when necessary to avoid a termination of benefits.

Medicaid is public health insurance for low-income Coloradans who meet the lawful presence requirements. You may qualify if you are a US citizen or have had a green card for 5 years or more or if you are a pregnant woman or a child with or without lawful presence status.

There is no monthly premiums and a $0 copay for office visits.

A program overseen by Connect for Health Colorado that allows Coloradans to purchase private health insurance regardless of documentation status. Plans must be purchased during the open enrollment period from Nov. 1st – Jan 15th or can be purchased anytime if you have a qualifying life change event.

 

A limited number of $0 plans for low-income applicants may or may not be available each year, check with Salud in October for the status on $0 plans.

A program for working adults or children who live in Colorado with one or more qualifying health conditions who are over income for regular Medicaid/Health First Colorado but meet the lawful presence requirements (there are no lawful presence requirements for pregnant women and children) that allows you to “buy in” to full Medicaid/Health First Colorado benefits. The monthly premium is based on income and ranges from $0 - $200.

Public health insurance for Coloradans age 19 and younger and pregnant women who are over income for Medicaid/Health First Colorado (there are no lawful presence requirements). There is no monthly premium, no copay for pregnant women, and the copay for children ranges from $0-$10.

SLIDING FEE SCALE DISCOUNT PROGRAM

Salud has a sliding-fee scale based on family size and income that any Salud patient can apply for to receive discounted services at Salud, if eligible. Patients at or below 100% of the Federal Poverty Guideline (FPG) will pay a "nominal charge" based on broad service groupings. For patients between 101%-200% of FPG, Salud will continue to offer sliding-fee discounts that are well below our actual cost to deliver those services. No one will be denied access to services due to inability to pay.

Programs to further reduce the cost of care for low-income Medicare members. Helps people with limited income and resources pay for some or all of their Medicare premiums and may also pay their Medicare deductibles and co-insurance and reduce the cost of prescriptions.

A program that provides financial assistance and health coverage to low-income seniors 60 years and older. There are no lawful presence requirements.

A program that provides access to dental care for low-income seniors who are:

  • 60 years of age or older,

  • income is at or below 250% of the most recently published federal poverty level for a household of that size, and

  • not eligible for dental services under Medicaid/Health First Colorado or the Old Age Pension program
    and who do not have private dental insurance.

El Estado de Colorado aprobó la ley SB17-65 Transparencia en los precios de la atención sanitaria de pago directo.

En virtud de la Ley "Sin sorpresas", tiene derecho a recibir una "Estimación de buena fe" que le explique cuánto le costará la atención médica.

Por ley, los proveedores de atención sanitaria tienen que dar a los pacientes que no tienen seguro o que no lo utilizan una estimación de la factura de los artículos y servicios médicos. Esta ley establece:

  • Tiene derecho a recibir una estimación de buena fe del coste total previsto de cualquier artículo o servicio que no sea de urgencia. Esto incluye costes relacionados como pruebas médicas, medicamentos recetados, equipos y honorarios hospitalarios.

  • Si recibe una factura que supera en al menos 400 $ su estimación de buena fe, puede impugnarla.

  • Asegúrese de guardar una copia o imagen de su Estimación de Buena Fe.
